The statement comes quickly after IBM signed up with OpenAI’s Sunrise Cyber Partner Program and launched a new application safety and security solution that utilizes sophisticated AI models to recognize and validate software application vulnerabilities.
As part of that initiative, IBM launched a solution that utilizes OpenAI models to examine software code, recognize susceptabilities and determine whether attackers could manipulate them. The service operates inside what IBM calls a “security harness,” a regulated atmosphere created to use sophisticated AI capacities while keeping enterprise safety and security controls.
Speaking on IBM’s Safety and security Knowledge podcast , Jayesh Kamat, Global Competency Leader for Application Safety and security at IBM claimed the modern technology exceeds standard code scanning by analyzing exactly how vulnerabilities connect throughout applications.
“We use them to check application code for customers and have the models think of what susceptabilities they might locate in that code,” Kamat said, “Not just susceptabilities, yet also chained susceptabilities throughout items of code.”
Kamat explained the technology can do greater than determine vulnerabilities by examining exactly how defects communicate throughout an application.
“We also have the ability in the harness where the AI designs can go and confirm that those vulnerabilities can be exploited,” Kamat claimed on the podcast.
